About the challenge
Fashion is visual and personal, yet shopping for it online is still guesswork. Shoppers can't tell how a piece will look on them. Brands absorb the cost of returns. Good styling advice is hard to find.
HackTheFashion Global'26 is an online hackathon where builders from anywhere in the world fix that with AI. You'll build working products on [YOUR TRY-ON API NAME], a virtual try-on API that takes a photo of a person and a photo of a garment and returns a realistic image of that person wearing it. Build the shopping, styling or sustainability experience you wish existed. It can be a brand-new app or a serious upgrade to something you've already started.
Pick the track that fits your idea:
- Try-On Commerce. Make buying clothes online feel as confident as trying them on in a store. Think product-page try-on, shoppable lookbooks, and fit and size guidance that cuts returns.
- Styling & Wardrobe. Build the stylist everyone wishes they had. Ideas include agentic outfit planners, capsule wardrobes, and "wear what you already own" tools.
- Fashion for Everyone. Build for people fashion often overlooks, or for a better planet. Ideas include inclusive sizing, adaptive clothing, and resale and rental.
Ideas that don't fit neatly are welcome. Choose the closest track and tell us why in your description.

Requirements
What to Build
Build a working web or mobile prototype that integrates [YOUR TRY-ON API NAME] and delivers clear value to shoppers, stylists or fashion retailers.
- Go beyond a thin wrapper around one API call. Show us a complete experience that a first-time user understands in seconds.
- Pick one of the three tracks, or explain your own.
- New builds and major upgrades to existing projects are both welcome. If yours existed before the hackathon, explain what you significantly changed during the Submission Period.
- Use people's images responsibly. Only run try-ons on photos of people who have given consent. Don't use images of minors. Don't build anything meant to deceive, harass or produce explicit content.
What to Submit
- Code repository URL. It must hold the source, assets and setup instructions needed to run the project. The repo can be public (with a licence) or private and shared with [CONTACT EMAIL].
- Text description covering features, functionality, the track you chose, and the shopper or retail value it delivers.
- Screenshots of the working project.
- A demo video of 1–3 minutes showing the experience end to end. The video must:
- explain how you used [YOUR TRY-ON API NAME]
- show the project running on the device it was built for
- be public on YouTube (preferred) or Vimeo
- contain no third-party trademarks or copyrighted music without permission
- Testing access. Give us a link or build, plus login details if it's private.
- A team Representative to submit on the team's behalf.
- A short exit interview if you win.
Judges may not watch past 3 minutes.
