Use these as your default headings: Dates, Eligibility, Project and Submission Requirements. The rest can sit below them.

HackTheFashion Global'26 Official Rules. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win, and paying does not improve your chances. Submitting an entry means you agree to these rules as a contract between you, the Sponsor, and Devpost.

[SPONSOR LEGAL NAME, REGISTERED ADDRESS] (the "Sponsor"), with Devpost providing the hackathon platform.

Eligibility

Open to individuals who have reached the age of majority where they live, to teams of such individuals, and to organisations that legally exist at the time of entry.

Not open to:

  • residents of, or organisations based in, a country or region where law prohibits taking part or receiving a prize, including countries under comprehensive U.S. sanctions
  • the Sponsor, Administrator and Devpost, their employees, agents and affiliates, and their immediate families and households
  • judges, and anyone who employs a judge
  • anyone whose participation would create a real or apparent conflict of interest, at the Sponsor's sole discretion

A person may join more than one team. Each team or organisation must appoint one Representative to enter on its behalf.

Project and Submission Requirements

  • What to create. A working application that integrates [YOUR TRY-ON API NAME] and gives clear value to consumers or retailers.
  • Functionality. It must install and run on its intended platform and work as shown in the video and description.
  • New and existing projects. Entries must be newly created, or significantly updated after the Submission Period began. Explain the update in your description.
  • Third-party tools. You must have the right to use any third-party SDK, API, data or model, and follow its licence terms.
  • Required materials. Code repository URL, text description, screenshots, a 1–3 minute public demo video, and testing access (see "What to Submit").
  • Language. All materials must be in English, or come with an English translation.
  • Multiple submissions. You may submit more than one project if each is unique and substantially different.
  • Testing. Make the project free to use and test for the Sponsor, Administrator and judges until judging ends. Judges aren't required to test it and may judge from your description, images and video alone.
  • Originality and IP. Your project must be your own work and must not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights. Open-source software is fine if you follow its licence and build something new on top of it.
  • Responsible use of people's images. You must have consent from every person whose image your project processes or shows. Projects must not use images of minors, create deceptive or defamatory content, or produce sexually explicit or hateful output. Projects that break this rule may be disqualified.
  • No sponsor support. A project must not have been funded, contracted or commercially licensed by the Sponsor before the Submission Period ended.

Judging

Judges chosen by the Sponsor score each submission in two stages.

  • Stage 1 (pass/fail): Does the project fit the theme and use [YOUR TRY-ON API NAME]?
  • Stage 2 (equally weighted):
    1. Technological Implementation: how well and how deeply it uses the API, and whether the code shows real, non-trivial work.
    2. Design: a complete, coherent experience rather than a proof of concept.
    3. Potential Impact: a credible case that it solves a real problem for a real audience.
    4. Quality of the Idea: a creative, non-obvious use that shows real understanding of the problem.

If scores tie, the higher score on the first criterion above wins. If still tied, the judges vote.

Prizes

Prize Amount Qty
1st Place [$] 1
2nd Place [$] 1
3rd Place [$] 1
[Track or special awards] [$] [#]

A project can win only one prize. Prizes can't be transferred. Winners must pass identity and eligibility checks and return the required forms within 10 business days. Winners are responsible for any taxes and transfer fees. The Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

Intellectual Property and Publicity

You keep ownership of your submission. You grant the Sponsor a non-exclusive licence to use it for judging. You also allow the Sponsor and Devpost to promote your project, and to use your name, likeness and voice in hackathon materials for [3] years afterwards.

General conditions

The Sponsor may cancel, suspend or modify the hackathon in the event of technical failure, fraud or any other event outside its control. It may disqualify entrants who tamper with the process or break these rules. The Sponsor's and judges' decisions are final. If these rules conflict with other materials, these rules prevail. Released parties aren't liable for technical failures, lost or late entries, or injury or damage connected to participation.

Have a lawyer review this before you publish. Devpost's own hint on this field says the same, and prize, tax and sponsor-liability clauses vary by jurisdiction.
